Den norska bokbloggaren “Flukten fra virkeligheten” har varje söndag en rolig liten utmaning där man ska skriva ner en liten smakbit av boken man läser för tillfället. Jag läser just nu bland annat Peaches av Jodi Lynn Anderson.
Handling:
Peaches combines three unforgettable heroines who have nothing in common but the troubles that have gotten them sentenced to a summer of peach picking at a Georgia orchard. Leeda is a debutante dating wrong-side-of-the-tracks Rex. Murphy, the wildest girl in Bridgewater, likes whichever side Rex is on. Birdie is a dreamer whose passion for Girl Scout cookies is matched only by her love for a boy named Enrico.
When their worlds collide, The Breakfast Club meets The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants in an entirely original and provocative story with a lush, captivating setting.
At fifteen, there was also the addition of the other hand, down the pants – usually cords, sometimes army surplus, all three dollar or less at Village Thrift. The boys she hadn’t bargained for; they had just sort of come. Because like many girls in Georgia, Murphy was as girl as a girl could be. Green eyed and smooth skinned with beauty marks here and there on her cheeks, with brown wavy hair and high apple breasts. Like most young girls at the Piggly Wiggly on any given day, she was more juicy than fine, more sexy than delicately beautiful. In a word, Murphy McGowan was yummy. A few more words that had been used to describe her were brilliant, bold, and rotten.
Boken verkar riktigt somrig och härlig! :)
Det var en okänd bok för mig.
helt nytt för mig. tack för smakebiten!
